¹⁶Si is a semiconductor at and around room temperature. At cryogenic temperature the thermal energy may not be enough to enable electron jumping to the conduction band: then Si is an insulator. At very high temperature many electronics have sufficient thermal energy to jump to the conduction band; then Si behaves almost like a conductor.
