¹¹Many people wrongly call “relations” “formulas”; please don’t! A formula is a recipe where you put some numbers in, and you get another number back. There is a reason why they are used in fairy tales and other falsehoods: it’s because they like to keep things vague and unclear. A relation gives a (causal) connection between parameters and hence gives more information and can be applied to a much wider scope than a formula.
